Sap 2010 Oil On Canvas 16" X 12" Still Life Abstract

The painting is in memory of the Sri Lankan people, which the artist painter Nadia Vuillaume met during a trip.It is a testimony of this courageous people, who work in difficult conditions to survive.

The first impression which emerges from this painting reminds us of the culture of the rubber tree, except that it is a drop of blood that comes out of a notch representing sternal ribs.

The skinny and emaciated arm, completed by a hand with curled fingers, testifies of a harsh and inhuman work.

This representation is in homage to these men and women whose living conditions count as heroism.
